Hoosier Solar's downtown Knox office was celebrated by the Starke County Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event marked the inauguration of the renewable energy company's new office located at 3 N. Main St., on Wednesday, May 22nd.

“We’re very happy to be here, we appreciate the support you’ve provided us, and we hope we can be great neighbors as we develop our projects here,” Hoosier Solar CEO Steven Lichtin said. “Any questions or concerns, please come to me, I’m always open to stakeholder feedback.”

Lichtin and Knox Mayor Dennis Estok cut the ribbon. Afterwards, the mayor thanked Hoosier Solar for setting up operations in downtown Knox.

“Our main goal in Knox is to get every storefront occupied, and this is a good example,” said Mayor Estok. “It helps the downtown community also. I appreciate it, and I’m sure we’re going to have a good working relationship.”

The Hoosier Solar office will serve as a workspace for local employees, as well as a place for community members to stop in and learn about renewable energy. The office features a full-size solar panel like the ones that will be used in the project once it is developed, as well as company and project-specific information.

Hoosier Solar has also collaborated with local companies to renovate the office and get it ready for occupancy. North Judson-based Sam’s Siding and Remodeling took care of the interior renovations, and OTES Signs and Graphics, which is also headquartered in North Judson, made and installed the window graphics. The cabinets and countertops for the restroom, kitchen, and work areas were purchased at Bailey’s Cabinets, and Lakeshore Landscaping provided potted flowers in front of the building.
