We are committed to responsible solar farm development.

That’s why we’re working together with landholders and farmers, local residents, and community members to help power our communities and leave a strong legacy for future generations.

Hoosier Solar is a different kind of solar developer. As an organization, we always work to include neighbors in the process, exceed state and local setbacks, preserve the landscape, and work closely with local leadership to make sure that our tax or economic development payments meet local needs. We aim to be true community partners in the Hoosier counties we work in rather than just investors.

About Us

We are committed to responsible solar farm development.

Hoosier Solar’s dedication to being a considerate neighbor influences all of our siting standards. This is why Hoosier Solar is committed to going above and beyond state and local standards.

We know firsthand what the people in our state can accomplish. Because of this, we’re working together with landholders and farmers, local residents, and community members to help power our communities and leave a strong legacy for future generations.

Land Restoration

Hoosier Solar knows how important farming is to rural Indiana communities. Preserving farmland is critical.

While we build solar farms on locally leased property, we also plant pollinator crops. We adhere to the Indiana Solar Site Pollinator Habitat Planning Scorecard developed by Purdue University, planting pollinators that improve local agriculture by supporting crop pollination. These pollinators boost yields in surrounding areas, reduce soil erosion, restore organic matter, increase wildlife, and improve soil—all of which results in a strong ecosystem.

At the end of our lease agreement, we remove the solar panels and return the land to farming, leaving landowners and farmers with acres of fertile soil and rich farmland.

Economic Independence

Solar development spurs the local economy and generates low-cost energy for Indiana.

By working together, our counties gain additional tax revenues to put back into communities, and landowners receive guaranteed and competitive annual compensation for use of their land.

With most raw and finished materials sourced from Indiana providers, the economic impact is significant. Local teams will manage the project throughout operation to ensure community partnership is sustained.
