Hoosier Solar Out in the Field

The Hoosier Solar team has been busy this summer meeting with people in communities across the state to discuss the benefits of solar. While it has been busy, we have had a lot of fun doing it.

Here’s what we’ve been up to.

Rush County

Mason and Rose Ann join community members at the Rush County fair in late June. They had a great time walking around the carnival and watching the animal shows during the day. Rose Ann particularly loved seeing the history of Rushville quilt. In the evenings, they got to talk to visitors about the benefits of solar farms and hand out swag.

Starke County

Meanwhile, Andrea, Larry, and Briana were off to Starke County. Andrea loved seeing everyone she’s gotten to know the past few months and many new faces. Larry made tabling a family affair, bringing along his daughter and grandkids to help get everyone in the solar spirit.

Adams County

There was a lot of interest in our booth at the Adams County Fair in July, which Andrea and Brianna attended. A lot of people asked Brianna what happens to the soil after the solar farm and she was ready to educate about the decommissioning phase, our pollinator program, and the native grasses we plant during operation to ensure the soil is healthy! Keep an eye out for an upcoming blog that will cover this in greater detail. In the meantime, head over to the FAQ section of the Hoosier website to learn more about this and a whole variety of other solar topics.

Upcoming Events

We are so grateful to have been welcomed with such open arms at all these events. We can’t wait to meet more of you at Swiss Day July 28 thru July 30 with a replenished supply of goodies!
